This is a list of fun places that kids will enjoy in Pune.  It includes a variety of places from mini-golf and gaming arcades to a snake park and an old fort.

1. Fantasia Magic at Ishanya Mall

This is a Laser Sound and Water Works Show.  It takes place only on the weekends. Starts at 7:30pm, ends at 8:00 pm.  Cost is Rs. 225 per person. Children under 3 years are free. Tickets can be booked on phone at +91 20 4000 4141. Located near Pune Club Golf Course.

2. Mini Golf

One location is at Soul in ABC Farms, Koregaon Park.  The mini-golf itself is rather so-so (especially if you have played at any international mini-golf courses).  Kids however seem to enjoy themselves.

Another Mini-golf place has opened somewhere in Vimaan Nagar.  I do not have any details on that place.  If you do, then please leave a comment with details on that location.

3.  3D Destination Fun

This is an indoor gaming arcade and bowling alley.  It is located in Mukundnagar.  Tel. No: +91 20 6602 7777, +91 20 6601 5601.  Lots of fun for kids. Great place to hold birthday parties as well.

4. Wonder Funkey

I haven’t been here (yet), but it’s supposed to be another fun indoor place for kids to go.  It too has a gaming arcade and a bowling alley.  It is located near Chandni Chowk. Tel. No.: +91 20 6470 7777.

5. Chokhi Dhani

It’s set up like a mini Rajasthani village.  It is open mainly weekend evenings (just check with them before going though).  The entrance fee includes dinner.  There are various “events” going on simultaneously at various locations inside Chokhi Dhani.  Events include the following:

  • Elephant Ride
  • Bullock-Cart Ride
  • Horse Ride
  • Camel Ride
  • Magic Show
  • Puppet Show
  • Fire-Eating Show
  • Bangle (Bracelets) Shop
  • Pottery Wheel
  • Head Massage
  • Name written on a grain of rice
  • Acrobatics (such as tight-rope walking)
  • Folk dances
  • Etc.

For dinner you have to sit on the floor, and eat in the traditional village style.  Menu is a fixed menu, with traditional Rajasthani food.

Tips if you go: Carry mosquito repellent since it’s open air.  Carry paper napkins for dinner.  Carry some food for the kids if they’re not used to traditional Indian food.

Located off Nagar Road, in Wagholi, Pune. Tel. No.: +91 20 2705 1032. Open 5pm – 11pm.

6. Katraj Snake Park and Zoo

The zoo is quite nice. The snake park while sounding creepy, is quite fascinating.  It’s very well done and maintained.  Plan on almost an entire day, since it will take quite some time to get there and back.  There is also a lake which has paddle boats.  We haven’t been on the paddle boats, but they looked quite popular.

Located on Pune-Satara Highway, near Bhartiya Vidyapeeth University.  Open 10:30am – 6pm. Closed Wednesdays.

7. Shaniwar Wada

Shaniwar Wada Lawns, Pune, India

Shaniwar Wada Lawns, Pune, India

It is a very beautiful and peaceful place.  This is an old fort now in ruins.  It would be better to read up some of the history before going since they don’t do a good job of explaining the ruins very well.

Located in Shaniwar Peth, near Pune Railway Station.  Open: 8:00 am to 6:30 pm.

Keep visiting back, since I will keep adding more places that are great for kids as I find them.  If you know of any place please let me know and I can add it.
