During Diwali vacation we visited Mumbai with the goal to do some touristy things. After much research, we found some places that are rather nice and very enjoyable.
1. Elephanta Caves: It’s about a 45 minute ferry ride from the Gateway of India. It’s a definite must go place. The caves were very clean and well maintained.
2. Nehru Planetarium: The show we saw “Secrets of the Sun” and “Conquest of the Moon” had fantastic visuals, but was a little too technical, especially for kids. It’s about a 1 hour show. Though it’s not as fancy and slick like the planetariums in the U.S., it’s pretty darn good. We all quite enjoyed ourselves, and I would definitely recommend it.
3. Atria Mall (Near Nehru Planetarium): Nice food court, good arcade for kids to hangout in. Designer shops. Good place to take a chill out.
4. Nehru Science Center: Unfortunately we ran out of time, and were not able to make it there this trip. It’s something we will do on our next trip. Have heard really good things about it.
